9th Paddy’s Night
With In Search of a Rose und Tír Nan Og
We are looking forward to celebrate another happy Paddy’s Night with you on Saturday, 16th March 2024, from 7.30 p.m. With In Search of a Rose and Tír Nan Og we expect two great German bands.
The concert in the beautifully decorated Kursaal in Bad Wimpfen is accompanied by a small supporting program, culinary delicacies like Irish stew, cocktails and selected whiskys, presented by our friends from Nature of Whisky. We enjoy a glass of Guinness or Kilkenny on tap, a real Irish stew – and all in the fabulous atmosphere of a party that could also take place on the Emerald Isle.
This event is supported by Guinness, Haller Löwenbräu, Lotto Baden-Württemberg, SÜWAG, Affaltrach Castle, Wüteria, the Neckarsulm carpentry Schäfer & Wieland, the Sautter company from Ellhofen, the Serr shipping company (from Bad Wimpfen) and the numerous volunteers in front of and behind the scenes.
Thank you so much to everyone. And here are the two acts that musically shape the evening
In Search of a Rose
In Search of a Rose have been playing in the league of the best German Irish folk rock bands for nearly 25 years. Founded in Lemgo in 1992, the quartet, founded in East Westphalia, combines an imaginative and varied style with virtuosity and humor, which is an absolute must for fans of Celtic rock. In Search of a Rose, different musical styles spin into something new and thus shape their own distinctive sound. From moderate Celtic punk rock to pop rock with a solid folk basis with a tendency to loving embellishments with other musical styles, everything is there.
In Search of a Rose is a great live band that we have already experienced open air in Bonfeld. But that was a long time ago: 2007 at Folk in the Schlosshof.
With an experience of over 1000 concerts in Germany, Switzerland and Italy as well as various guest appearances in England and Ireland, the five boys will also transform the Kursaal in Bad Wimpfen into an Irish pub
Tír Nan Og
With over 400 performances, the Tír Nan Og formation has already gained plenty of stage experience, and the Bavarian Irish still manage to reinvent their style. With influences from rock, reggae and acoustic punk, they warmly welcome their fans to the land of eternal youth. Because “Tír Nan Og” means nothing else.
The sextet heats up the listeners with creative Irish folk rock.
The eternally young at heart have their very own sound that sometimes invites you to sing along and dance, sometimes comes across as rocky and dark – and sometimes makes you think. After Bad Wimpfen, the band brings new songs with them: On their latest album, Tír Nan Og sings about love, life, death and plenty of alcohol – all traditional Irish themes, and yet “Sing, Ye Bastards!” anything but a traditional Irish folk album. “This album was created in difficult times, and that’s precisely why we were able to particularly empathize with the Irish attitude to life of sticking together despite difficult times,” says drummer Volker Katzki.
That fits the times. And so we’re not only looking forward to two incredibly good bands – but also to a solidarity between people that only culture can create.
