Skerryvore
ScottlandThey’re finally back: The Scottish band took the audience’s hearts by storm at Folk im Schlosshof 2012 and at the blacksheep Festival 2015. Young, impetuous and highly musical, Skerryvore rocked the stage. Now, after Madison Violet, they are playing at the 9th blacksheep Festival – Live in the Bonfelder Schlosspark on Thursday, 20th June 2024, from 8 p.m.

Skerryvore’s sound is as breathtaking as the island of Tiree in the west of Scotland, where the band members come from.
Their energetic Scot Rock with fiddle, accordion, pipes, flutes, whistles, guitar and bagpipe is like the wild spray that crashes against the cliffs. Bass, keyboards and drums set funky accents. But the beauty of the Scottish Highlands can also be clearly seen in Skerryvore’s music, embodied by the wonderful voice of frontman Alec Dalglish, who is also responsible for most of the songs.
This mix has brought the boys several awards since 2011: best CD, best singer/songwriter (SNMA 2011) and Live Act of the Year twice (STMA 2011 and 2016).
2017 Skerryvore was the face of the worlwide Visit Scotland Campaign.
Skerryvore is a rising star at the music sky
Since their formation in 2005, the band has played over 1000 concerts in 24 countries, released five albums and gained countless fans. Festivals such as T in the Park (GB), Poyenberg Irish Open Air, the blacksheep Festival in Germany, Celtic European Festival, Milwaukee Irish Fest (USA) or Tonder Festival (DK) – to give just a few references – have celebrated the band.
With their last album “Evo”, the Skerries, as the fans affectionately call the band, played a world tour in 2019 with concerts in the USA and Australia, among others.
In mid-2020, the octet celebrated its 15th band anniversary with a live album.
In December 2020, the boys had a number one single in the Scottish charts. Then the spark jumped over to England and the BBC had them in Powerplay A. The current album, which was released in April 2023, is called “Tempus” – hearing this music makes you want to see the skerries perform live at the 9th blacksheep Festival. As always, tickets are available from www.reservix.de.
