Jack Savoretti
Great BritainBorn in London in 1983, Jack Savoretti’s father was from Italy and his mother was an English model. She was on the music scene in the 1960s and encouraged her son to become a musician. With his debut album “Between The Minds”, Savoretti hit the charts straight away in 2007. For his second album “Harder Than Easy”, he focussed on the American market after becoming known there through the use of several songs in television series.
“Singing to Strangers” was Number one in the British Charts
In 2012, the album “Before The Storm” was released, which he recorded with Swedish producers. In 2014, Savoretti joined the major label BMG. Musically, he turned to his Italian roots and the pop music of the 1960s and 1970s. “Written In The Scars” was released in 2015 and became his first international success. In addition to the top ten in the UK, it also reached the charts in Italy and in his adopted country of Switzerland.
Inspired by this success, he released his fifth album “Sleep No More” just one year later, which was just as successful as its predecessor. For his next album, Savoretti went to Rome and recorded in the studio of film composer Ennio Morricone. “Singing To Strangers” was released in 2019 and helped the musician to a number one position in the British charts.
“Europiana” is the music of many summers
“Singing To Strangers” formed the basis for “Europiana”, an album about family, friendship and the facets of love. “‘Europiana’ is the music of the summers of my childhood – reimagined for the present day. It’s obvious which artists and eras inspired us, but the music is not an imitation, it’s contemporary,” says Jack Savoretti about his album. He didn’t want to let the journey with “Europiana” come to an end so quickly and therefore released an extended edition of the album with six new tracks in May 2022: “Europiana Encore”.
His reputation as a singer-songwriter is ennobled by the collaborators he attracts: a who’s who of music that includes international stars such as Bob Dylan, Kylie Minogue, Shania Twain, Nile Rodgers and many others. Jack Savoretti has a unique talent for channelling his musical roots, which are equally influenced by the singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s in California as well as European chansonniers such as Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel and Lucio Battisti.
Jack Savoretti is currently working in the studio on the completion of his 8th album and will be touring the UK and Europe in 2024 to present his new music together with fan favourites – including in Bonfeld for the first time.
